This is my 2nd in the Paris Travel Series.
Jennifer and Phillip invited me to lunch today. They will pick me up at 12:30 and I should look for the black convertible. Oh my, this has a great beginning. This will be the first time that I’ve met Jennifer’s beau (later I find out they will be married next month.) He is quite a handsome, mature gentlemen with the emphasis on gentlemen. At first glance, at second glance, third glance, and even by the end of the day he did not disappoint. The restaurant of choice is Auberge de Bonheur, one of their favorites. It’s a local and lovely restaurant with tables that sit in the garden; the weather is glorious, warm enough to not need a sweater, cool enough to be comfortable–no breeze no bugs just fabulous conversation. Philippe speaks very good English and so we had a delightful afternoon talking mostly of travel. Of course, the food was fabulous. We began with a glass of champagne followed by (entrée which here is the first couse) I followed Phillips lead and had the crab appetizer served in a pool of creamy tomato puree. The second plate was carpaccio–beautiful beautiful beautiful, and then there was the raspberry tart for dessert and coffee, naturally.
After lunch we drove to Parc de Bagatelle in the Bois de Boulogne and strolled, with the other Parisians, through paths of flowers and arbors– oh my, it was out of a storybook. Jennifer was kind enough to give me a slice of her life–I know now why she moved to Paris! More about the park:

These are two places that I recommend for a lovely afternoon in Paris.
