David Collins, winemaker for Big Cork Vineyards, will lead, for the second year, a small group to Europe to discover and explore the wines of France. Burgundy, Bordeaux, Loire Valley, and Champagne regions are on the schedule for April 2018.
The 12-night itinerary includes visits to wineries and vineyards chosen by David and complimented with culinary experiences. The trip is nicely balanced with planned activities and free time to explore independently.
France is Wine…and Wine is France
“FRANCE sits at the pinnacle of the wine world. Its characteristic regional styles—including Bordeaux, Burgundy, Rhone blends and Champagne—are imitated by winemakers around the globe.” states The Economist. This is precisely the reason France was chosen as the next wine destination, and who better to escort this group than the award-winning winemaker, David Collins.
It is a rare opportunity to have accomplished winemaking for the duration of this trip and available as a personal guide to decipher the fine points of wine growing, winemaking and wine tasting. “I am most excited about this trip,” David says, “and seeing the great vineyards of Burgundy that I have heard about for three decades. It is an old-world perspective of winemaking that is intriguing.”
