Fly fishing – Norway

We had a client who was specific – he and his wife wanted to go fly fishing in Norway. Frankly, it never occurred to me to go fly fishing, or that Norway is where fly fishers want to go. Think about it…what country has more icy cold water than Norway. Exactly! The best season, July and August, bring salmon weighing 30, 40, and 50 pounds!

Here anglers stay in rustic resorts or private cabins, with guides, boats, equipment, and someone to clean and cook the salmon. Additionally, they can take advantage of the day-light night and fish into the evening. I am not a fisherman, nor fond of chilly weather, but the canyons, waterfalls, clean crisp air, and fresh salmon is awfully inviting.
