\u27a1\ufe0f I am going to say this in my loudest outside voice, BUY TRAVEL INSURANCE. Nothing is more painful than having to call clients and let them know that because they did not buy travel insurance, their trip was not protected. Here are the details:<\/p>\r\n
<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
\u2013 my clients live in Houston<\/p>\r\n
\u2013 their family trip cost was nearly ten thousand dollars<\/p>\r\n
\u2013 they were offered travel insurance but did not purchase<\/p>\r\n
\u2013 departure date: 3 weeks away<\/p>\r\n
<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
\u27a1\ufe0f On August 25th Hurricane Harvey lands in Houston and pounds the city for days, leaving everyone in, and around, the city stunned. \u00a0My clients are speechless, distraught, helpless; what now? \u00a0They begin to critically assess their damage, the damage to the city, and how it will affect the coming days and weeks. \u00a0Oh yes\u2026and to make matters worse, it dawns on them\u2013they have a trip to Spain and Italy planned! \u00a0They spend long hours angsting \u2014 to go or not to go? \u00a0Could they physically, emotionally, and\/or logistically travel. \u00a0<\/p>\r\n

\u27a1\ufe0f Naturally, I called and emailed them to see how they were fairing the disaster. \u00a0Emotions of Hurricane Katrina came flooding back to me, as I knew in great detail of what they were experiencing. \u00a0Alas, I could be of little help. \u00a0The next question I asked (and always ask) is \u201cdid you buy the travel insurance?\u201d \u00a0I took a seat, as I heard the word \u201cno.\u201d Big sigh\u2026<\/p>\r\n

\u27a1\ufe0f They wanted to know how much would they lose if they did not go. \u00a0I gave them my best guess, but would not know for sure until I called each supplier and begged for refunds. \u00a0In the end, they decided to postpone the trip and will have lost over half of their trip cost. \u00a0In hindsight, the price of the insurance seems insignificant. \u00a0<\/p>\r\n

\u27a1\ufe0f My clients always receive a travel insurance quote soon after their first deposit. \u00a0As you weigh the options, consider this\u2013are you willing to lose the entire cost of your trip for the price of insurance? \u00a0Here are the top 3 reasons that I have witnessed over two decades:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
