{"id":197,"date":"2020-09-03T14:55:00","date_gmt":"2020-09-03T14:55:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.freedomtravelllc.com\/blog\/?p=197"},"modified":"2020-11-03T17:26:07","modified_gmt":"2020-11-03T17:26:07","slug":"paris-undiscovered-jewels","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.freedomtravelllc.com\/blog\/paris-undiscovered-jewels\/","title":{"rendered":"Paris-Undiscovered Jewels"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p>This is my 6th in the Paris Travel Series.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/freedomtravelllc.com\/paris-undiscovered-jewels\/website#!\/blog\/edit\/4849\">Here is a link to the one before.<\/a><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>\u00a0When I stay in a great city longer than a few days there is an\u00a0opportunity, and in my case, a responsibility to find \u201cundiscovered jewels\u201d.\u00a0 \u00a0Today there would be two\u2013Jacquemart-Andre Museum and the Musee Marmottan Monet. \u00a0\u00a0In my apartment there is a map taped to the wall. Clearly an aid to visitors, and on the map there is one circled item-only one\u2013Jacquemart-Andre Museum. It seemed important enough to an earlier tourist and so it peaked my interest. \u00a0\u00a0I managed to arrive at the museum by bus with no problems. However, as this was Saturday, and August, and in a \u00a0residential part of town, the restaurants, that is most of them, were closed. This was of particular concern because now I was hungry. \u00a0Ah ha! \u00a0The museum had a restaurant and what a delight it was.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/freedomtravelllc.com\/contact-us\/\">\u00a0Let\u2019s do lunch in Paris\u2013next Tuesday?<\/a><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/freedomtoursllc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/JA-Cafe.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Today my \u201cjewel\u201d is less about the magnificent house and the art collection and more about the beautiful lovely stunning restaurant. I could only think of all of the people that I would love to share this moment with. I can imagine garden clubs and friends and grandchildren and all of the people my mother would love this place it had everything Parisian that one could want<br \/><br \/>It seems, quite by accident, that I was attracted to Monet. I so enjoyed his water lily paintings spanning two fabulous galleries at l\u2019Orangerie, that I spontaneously planned a trip to Giverny on Sunday. Now I thought it would be appropriate to visit the museum that housed more Monet paintings and any other place in the world.\u00a0 My afternoon quest\u00a0 was to find Marmottan Monet museum.\u00a0 I arrived with just 30 minutes to spare before closing\u2013but what a rewarding half hour. And the added jewel was the vast collection of Berthe Morrisot\u2013her paintings and her collection. Again \u201cthe biggest public holding of this artist work\u201d.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/freedomtoursllc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/Monet-Marmottan.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/freedomtoursllc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/Morrisot-Marmottan.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><br \/><br \/>When you have the chance to see an in-depth collection of one artists work, you have better insight to their style, to their technique, to what captures their passion.
