They will pick me up at 12:30 and I should look for the black convertible. Oh my, this has a great beginning. \u00a0This will be the first time that I\u2019ve met Jennifer\u2019s beau (later I find out they will be married next month.)\u00a0 He is quite a handsome, mature gentlemen with the emphasis on gentlemen. At first glance, at second glance, third glance, and even by the end of the day he did not disappoint. \u00a0The restaurant of choice is\u00a0<strong>Auberge de Bonheur,<\/strong>\u00a0one of their favorites. It\u2019s a local and lovely restaurant with tables that sit in the garden; the weather is glorious, warm enough to not need a sweater, cool enough to be comfortable\u2013no breeze no bugs just fabulous conversation. Philippe speaks very good English and so we had a delightful afternoon talking mostly of travel. \u00a0Of course, the food was fabulous. \u00a0We began with a glass of champagne followed by (entr\u00e9e which here is the first couse) I followed Phillips lead and had the crab appetizer served in a pool of creamy tomato puree. \u00a0The second plate was carpaccio\u2013beautiful beautiful beautiful, and then there was the raspberry tart for dessert and coffee, naturally. \u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/freedomtoursllc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/Carpaccio.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>After lunch we drove to\u00a0<strong>Parc de Bagatelle\u00a0<\/strong>in the\u00a0<strong>Bois de Boulogne\u00a0<\/strong>and strolled, with the other Parisians, through paths of flowers and arbors\u2013 oh my, it was out of a storybook. Jennifer was kind enough to give me a slice of her life\u2013I know now why she moved to Paris! \u00a0More about the park:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><em>The Parc de Bagatelle, situated at the heart of the Bois de Boulogne, is one of the City of Paris\u2019s four botanical gardens. Created in 1775, the park and its chateau were built in 64 days after a wager between Queen Marie-Antoinette and her brother in-law, the Count of Artois.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>These are two places that I recommend for a lovely afternoon in Paris.<\/p>\r\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is my 2nd in the Paris Travel Series.\u00a0 Jennifer and Phillip invited me to lunch today.
