{"id":170,"date":"2020-08-25T14:43:00","date_gmt":"2020-08-25T14:43:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.freedomtravelllc.com\/blog\/?p=170"},"modified":"2020-10-02T19:26:50","modified_gmt":"2020-10-02T19:26:50","slug":"designing-great-trips-its-more-about-the-traveler-than-the-destination","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.freedomtravelllc.com\/blog\/designing-great-trips-its-more-about-the-traveler-than-the-destination\/","title":{"rendered":"Designing Great Trips\u2013Its more about the traveler than the destination."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>It is almost impossible for me to comprehend how any trip can be planned without knowing a lot about travelers and their travel-style, and without this data, the trip becomes cookie-cutter and bland.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What I came to understand as a Travel Architect, were two key things 1<sup>st<\/sup>: that your&nbsp;vacation time&nbsp;is precious, and 2<sup>nd<\/sup>: that our design and logistics efforts make a huge difference in the experience.&nbsp; So over the past 25 years I developed 3 merging routes:&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/freedomtravelllc.com\/category\/our-trips\/\">destinations, accommodations and special interests.<\/a>&nbsp; Using these important elements we are able to design a comprehensive experience that is sure to WOW. &nbsp;When designing your trip, I may begin working with a destination, (say&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/freedomtravelllc.com\/italy\/\">Italy&nbsp;<\/a>or&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/freedomtravelllc.com\/ireland-trip\/\">Ireland<\/a>) or I may begin with the place to stay, (like a&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/freedomtravelllc.com\/accommodations\/\">unique lodge or castle<\/a>) or I may begin with your<a href=\"http:\/\/freedomtravelllc.com\/special-interests\/\">&nbsp;hobby or passion<\/a>\u2014if you love&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/freedomtravelllc.com\/fly-fishing-norway\/\">fly fishing<\/a>, history or wine.&nbsp; In the end all three routes merge into a one-of-a-kind trip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Almost every day there is a caller requesting a trip\u2013they might say something like, \u201cI want to go to Italy for a 10 nights, what do you have?\u201d I am certain that people are surprised when I begin asking them a list of questions. &nbsp;The conversation might go something like this\u2026&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; What is the reason for this trip?&nbsp; Anniversary, Honeymoon?&nbsp;<\/li><li>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; What do you enjoy doing when not at work<\/li><li>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Do you enjoy driving and watching the scenery or prefer to get to your destination<\/li><li>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Are you active and like to hike, bike and kayak or do you prefer gardens and museums<\/li><li>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Who is traveling with you, what are the ages and temperaments<\/li><li>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Do you have any \u201cmust see\u201d places or \u201cabsolutely must NOT have\u201d services\u2014<\/li><li>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Are their family ties or genealogy to discover<\/li><li>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
